Dear Neighbor,

My name is Julie Rogers, and I am your State Representative in Michigan’s 41st District. Now serving in my third term, I have the honor and privilege of working with others on policies that improve access to affordable health care.

I am running to be your next State Senator in the open seat in District 19 in 2026.

As a practicing health care provider, I have used my experience and knowledge to craft legislation that prioritizes our community’s health. We have had an incredible last term, and I’ve been pleased to work with my colleagues to protect residents’ access to health care, including new supports for pregnant individuals, repealing Medicaid work requirements, and strengthening our laws to support survivors of sexual assault.

Budgets reflect one’s priorities. I am very proud of the state budget we passed last year, which has historic funding for our public schools (including free breakfast and lunch for all children), additional dollars for lead service line replacement, funds for behavioral health specialists to respond alongside Kalamazoo’s law enforcement officers on calls involving mental health crises, and funding for US 131 business loop to re-route truck traffic out of our core neighborhoods and improve air quality.

My family has deep roots in Kalamazoo County. My husband is a physical therapist at a local independent clinic, my mother taught at our local community college, my father worked in real estate, and my sister is an educator. Together, we all have a deep commitment to service in our community.

I will continue to fight for those who are often underrepresented and forgotten. Our community needs an economy and government that works for everyone, not just a select few. Please join me as we continue the work to transform Michigan!

Onward,

Julie M. Rogers
